Suggest Treatment For Para-umbilical Hernia

I have had a CT scan that says I have a para-umbilical hernia. I have also had acute nearly dirrohea every other day for a month. My doctor has said we don't need to be concerned about the hernia and has referred me to a gasterentorologist. I am concerned about this. Is she right to not be concerned about the hernia, even though I have digestive problems?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Umbilical hernia as diagnosed as an incidental finding may not be symptomatic and your main symptoms is diarrhea for the last one month hence your Doctor has correctly referred you to the Gastroenterologist.
You need the tests of blood, stool and urine. This may give a clue for possible intestinal infection which may be cured by a course of an antibiotic active against intestinal infection, metronidazole and thus you may get cured.
If this does not help you, then you will need a colonoscopy and other required tests for getting the correct diagnosis and proper management.
