Suggest Treatment For Insomnia Caused By Having Pepsia

About a month back I experienced severe diarrhea followed by hyper-acidity. To relieve the hyper-acidity I took pepsia (rabeprazole) which caused me insomnia. Ever since then every time I try to sleep I feel afraid that I wont be able to fall asleep. As a result of this I have not slept properly for about 2 weeks. Many nights I get no sleep at all and the next day I spend worrying about it.Can you please suggest how to get out of this worry loop about my sleep and how to get a good nights sleep?

Hello
Welcome here.
Brief: practice sleep hygiene to help you sleep.

Details: here are some sleep hygiene tips:

Avoid napping during the day.
Avoid stimulants such as caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol too close to bedtime.
Exercise can promote good sleep. A relaxing exercise, like yoga, can be done before bed to help initiate a restful night's sleep. Vigorous exercises should be avoided.
Food can be disruptive right before sleep. Stay away from large meals close to bedtime.
Ensure adequate exposure to natural light. Light exposure helps maintain a healthy sleep-wake cycle.
Establish a regular relaxing bedtime routine.
Associate your bed with sleep. It's not a good idea to use your bed to watch TV, listen to the radio, or read.
Take warm water bath and have a glass of warm milk before bedtime.

Practice deep breathing and meditation to keep your mind relaxed.

If this does not work, sleep inducing drugs like ativan and zolpidem can help. Please note that these are prrscription drugs.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
