Suggest Treatment For High Heart Rate

Lately I ve had a high heart rate 117 bpm resting...it s on and off...I have anxiety with panic attacks just got married in Jan 2nd and i don t know if I should be overly concerned. I take Xanax as needed and that does seem to help but I don t know if I m overly worried or I should go see a doctor. What would you recommend? Thank you, Nicole

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for asking question.

yes your heart rate is high..
Because of excess stress as in your case , it can lead to hypertension and increase heart rate.Measure your blood pressure also.

You should consult doctor and take ECG or echo for rule out any cardiac condition...

Meanwhile you have to avoid stress.
Try to avoid activity that lead stress.
Daily yoga and exercise good for stress relief.
Take enough sleep...
If hypertension present take less salty diet.

Take care...
