Suggest Treatment For Hair Loss And Thinning With Mirena Coil

I have had the mirena coil in for 9months now, my period have stopped which is why I had it. However, my hair is so thin and the texture has changed significantly, and my curls have dropped, I also have developed alopecia aretea. I have had blood tests and they all came back negative for thyroid, feritin and iron levels. I am wanting it out will my hair go back to normal afterwards?.

Hi,

Use of Mirena Coil does lead to hair loss as the product list for Mirena Coil labels Alopecia as a side effect.

Hair may fall in small patches, it may also result in complete loss of hair from the scalp (Alopecia totalis), or from the whole body
(Alopecia Universalis). Alopecia is an autoimmune disorder.

Regrowth of hair does take place after removal of Mirena coil. Go for lifestyle changes like take a well-balanced diet with protein & calcium.

Take multivitamin supplements. Massage skull for better blood circulation. Take fruits & veggies containing quercetin(cures alopecia). Consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
