General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about your 13 year old daughter, grommet was inserted when she was 9 for the fluid development, Recurrent problems and prescribed Mucolite and Bidanzen forte for 30 days.
The commonest causes for recurrent fluid in ear are one of the following:
Eustachian tube dysfunction due to recurrent nose and sinus problems.
Mastoid bone infection with accumulation of cholesteatoma or the small air spaces filled with edematous mucosa and infection.
Hence I would advise her the following:
Continue the medicines like Mucolite and Bidanzen Forte.
Consult an ENT Surgeon again and discuss the above mentioned causes so that he can go for ENT Endoscopy.
Clinical evaluation.
MRI of the mastoids.
Tests of blood.
Audiometry.
Once all the tests and investigations are done it is easy to find the cause and thus go for specific treatment as per the cause found.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
