Suggest Treatment For External Hemorrhoids

Hi,

I've suffered from tailbone pain for 10 months now. After unseccessful 8 chiropractic sessions I feel the pain may be caused by external hemorrhoids (?) that have been bothering me for many years. May be I have also internal hemorrhoids, and the pain comes from them? Should I see now a proctologist?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Tail bone pain also known as Coccydynia can be due to a number of commonly occurring causes like traumatic injury to tail bone, tail bone fracture, Sciatica, Pilonidal cysts,Sarcoititis etc..
Although Hemorrhoids are also suspected to be a cause for tail bone pain but it is still less probable..

So I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray of tail bone, MRI Scan and Sigmoidoscopy [to check for Hemorrhoid]can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..

In case if the pain is due to problems related to the tail bone then you can be advised anti-inflammatory painkillers, muscle relaxants, steroid injections and along with it avoiding long hours of sitting, used a proper cushioned seat to sit and physiotherapy under supervision of a trained Physiotherapy..
In case if it is due to Hemorrhoid then you will be referred to a Proctologist and he can advised you either medical or surgical treatment depending on the condition..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
