Suggest Treatment For Elevated Sgot And Sgpt Levels In Blood

I am a 22 year old male and I work aboard cruise ships. In order to be approved for work, I must undergo a full medical exam. 18-19 months ago when I took my exam, they came back with high levels of SGOT and SGPT and absolute monocytes. After taking the test over again, all numbers where back to normal. The doctor while unsure what caused it, suggested perhaps the intense work out I had done the night before the initial tests caused the numbers to go up.

Two weeks ago I had to undergo the same full medical exam to go back to my new ship, and this time the SGOT and SGPT came back high again. SGOT at 191 and SGPT at 97. I did have drinks the night before the tests but I still would like to know if I should be concerned.

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Previously when liver enzymes high yes it can be by myositis or muscular problem by too much work load....

But again this time enzymes level high and you have history of alcohol....

So investigate your case with USG first to rule out fatty liver....
It will also reveal gall stone like condition if present....
HIDA scan also seems to be helpful....

Alcohol also is the causative factor...
So try to avoid over drinking above safe limit.....

If still needed viral marker study done to rule out chronic carrier case....

Meanwhile take low fat diet....
Fruits more....

If still cause not clear detail history taken with subsequent investigation for detail work up...And if doctor needed even biopsy might done for advance investigation ...

Take care.
