Suggest Treatment For Edema In Lower Legs
I have edema in my lower leg, caused by chronic venous insufficiency.
I wear thigh length compression stockings, which relieve the discomfort, however I can still feel the pitting through the stockings which are 30/40 hg. Should I consider a stronger compression? I am a 73 year old male in good health very active, can do 4/5 mile power walks golf pilates. I am overweight 5'9 220 and jouned weight watchers

My opinion-
In the given situation-You seem to suffer from-Varicose Veins with Incompetant Veins causing Venous Edema,despite of Venostockings.
This indicates-?deep vein thrombosis, and would need Consults with Vascular / veins Surgeon to evaluate suggestions on Veno-stocking usage.
USG with Color Doppler study would fix this issue.
EVLT with foam sclerosant therapy of incompentent veins with thrombolytic corrections by percutaneous Cather directed thrombolysis with phosphotidyl choline(Altplase / or activase) treatment would fix these problems with long remissions.
Further suggestions in this regard would need ore information /investigations after getting more details from You.
