Suggest Treatment For Constipation

I usually have 3-4 bowel movements a day, but haven t been able to for 4 days now. I tried milk of magnesia and dulcolax stool softener but the only result way little bright yellow diarrhea. It feels like I have some solid stool that needs to come out but when I try I get nothing. Should I schedule a doctors appointment or go to the e.r.?

Hello,

Acute constipation may be due to low fiber diet or sedentary lifestyle or antra abdominal pathology or electrolyte imbalance or hyperthyroidism etc..

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Use pegmove powder in glass of water regularly at night.

Check serum electrolytes and thyroid profile.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
