Hi, I hope you are well. Chronic infection with hepatitis C virus is one of the main causes of hepatic cirrhosis and development of hepatocellular carcinoma, this in the long term.

It´s important to know that hepatitis C genotype is what you present besides knowing your liver function state to give you more targeted advice. Currently there are many short and very flexible therapeutic regimens that have> 90% chance of cure, which could bring a compensation to liver function once you achieve the sustained viral response. I suggest that you go with your hepatologist so that you can provide comprehensive care.

On the other hand, you definitely need a multidisciplinary attention as they present complex psychiatric manifestations that affect and interfere with your daily activities so the management by the psychiatrist is recommended.
