Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was in P.E last wednesday and we were playing hockey- Long story short I got hit with a wooden hockey bat on my right hand. The hand started to go red immidiatly and a little blue bruise started to appear. I could make a fist. I went to the medical room and got some ice as there was a little swelling. A few days later my symptoms hadn't improved so I went up to the emergency department (A&E) and I was told I needed an x-ray. After my x-ray I saw a doctor who said it was just bruising and would clear up, he also checked my x-ray and saw no damage to bones. That was last Thursday. Recently, my hand has still been quite painful and a little swollen. (by the way this is all on the left hand side of my hand on the second finger to the thumb) I can also feel something that I can only describe as muscle or bone. It feels loose and it's right under my knuckle on the index finger. I was just looking for some advice on what I should do really. (i'm 14 years old)
I can't really take any painkillers or anti-imflammortory as of my chrons disease.
thankyou.
