Doctor , I am 21yr old . I have light brown spots on my cheeks under my eyes . What I can do to lighten them and how can I prevent them from getting dark and from coming..?? My skin tone is very fair . Pls suggest me a good sunscreen too which is not oily
Your concern seems to be that of Freckles which are brown to tan, macular spots on sun exposed skin (e.g cheeks, bridge of nose etc).
Freckles are more common in fair individuals e.g in caucasians and in them they are a cause of cosmetic concern
A gel based sunscreen, which would not be oily, should be worn throughout the day. A sunscreen with minimum spf 30 would be adequate for broad spectrum coverage.
At night you could use a skin lightening cream containing one or more of the following ingredients like kojic acid, glycolic acid, hydroquinone etc to fade them. These demelanising agents would exfoliate existing melanin as well as inhibit new melanin synthesis while sunscreen would prevent further sun induced darkening.
