Suggest Treatment For Blockage Of Eustachian Tube In Ears

I have intermittent blockage of Eustachian tube in my left ear, caused apparently due to influenza. Will VOZET tablet help me get rid of this problem? OK let me put it like this Dr Sunil.... I have a ear block (left ear) caused due to cold and cough and a prominent ENT specialist prescribed VOZET tablet which has levocetirizine (5mg) - dosage 1 tablet a day after food at night. A year ago I took polaramine tablet for the same problem for thirty days and the problem got resolved. Will this tablet help? Thank you, R.Prakash -

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have blockage of eustachian tube in ears. Well there can be many reasons for eustachian tube dysfunction like upper respiratory track infection, ear infection and post nasal drip. I would suggest you to take medication Vozet as that is an antiallergic medication. take antibiotic along with this.

- Take steam twice a day to relieve the congestion .

- Do warm saline gargles .

- Apply dry hot compresses to external ear .

Consult ENT specialist again to rule out causes like ear infection . Doctor may prescribe mucolytic agent , decongestant and antibiotics . Avoid cold carbonated beverages and oily, sharp and spicy food.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
