Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder

Hi,
My brother was diagnosed as bi polar 12 yrs back and was on lithium , valproate and thyroid medicine. But his relapses were very frequent so we discussed with another doc after 12 yrs, now we get to know that bec of lithium over dose and not proper check he has suffered cerebral atropy and also he has ATPS acute transient phycosis syndrome rather than bi polar. Lithium has been stopped completely and now he is on oilimelt 20 mg, sizodon 4 mg, eltroxin but still the relapses are re occurring, we are in hospital for last 23 days still don't see any improvement can u please help.

In BPAD, mood stabilizer is must. Due to thyroid, he can't be on lithium, so better to keep him on valproate or carbamazepine with antipsychotic combination. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
