Suggest Treatment For Anxiety/panic Attacks

Your Question I have had generalized anxiety/panic attacks for over 15 years now. I have tried almost every SSRI and other meds such as antihistamines or even heart medication has been prescribed to help slow me down a bit. None of these helped at at all. Only negative effects came from them. I also have been prescribed several benzos. These end up making me feel like a zombie although they do control the symptoms. I have stopped taking them for a few months now for that reason. I have tried many therapists. It seems like nothing truly works and my panic attacks keep getting worse. any advice?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi.

I understand your concern.

If medicines can not help then need to go for psychotherapy and behaviour therapy.

Psychoanalysis and psychodynamic behind anxiety or panic need to be addressed.

Childhood trauma or forgotten unfulfilled wishes are in unconscious mind which are anxiety provocative. For that it is necessary to verbalised all that material from unconscious mind.

Psychotherapy and psychoanalysis can help.

Now a days Cognitive behaviour therapy is become choice for panic disorder.

Consult psychiatrist and get proper advise.

Glad to help you further.
Thank you.
