Suggest Treatment For Gray Platelet Syndrome

i have been diagnosed with the Gray platelet syndrome...i live in fear that my platelets will drop and i may bleed to death internally without even knowing...is there any medicine to date besides the removal of my spleen that will help my body not only produce more platelets but not kill them?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Regular evaluation of platelets, specifically during periods of infection is essential.
2. Its an inherited disorder and any fall in platelets can be corrected by donor platelets transfusion. Preferably go for single donor platelets to avoid formation of auto-antibodies.
3. Avoid medications which impair platelet function. You can try taking desmopressin. It might be helpful. You need to take prescription from your doctor.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
