Suggest Treatment For ADHD In A Child

long story short...my son has AD/HD. They recently put him on concerta to help him concentrate during school. He DID NOT do well with the side effects and refused to take it. He and I have alot of the same symptoms and are both on zoloft. (I have been on meds for 15 years. My doctor is at a loss of what to try for me to get me out of this slump. Desperate to find something I took one of my sons concertas (I know this is a big no no ) But i couldn t believe how much better i felt with just one pill. I had energy to get through my day and didn t feel like I was walking around in a coma. I could remember appointments and schedules without 100 different lists. And in general just had a much more positivie attitude. My question is, how do I go about talking to my doctor about getting on this since i took it withough a prescription in the first place. In the past I have been on paxil, prozac, buspar, hormones, lithium, ativan, abilify, and zoloft.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

ADHD is something that needs regular follow-up with a psychiatrist and behavioral therapist. With multiple sittings, child should improve but we should give time and patience. Kindly stick on to your doctors advice.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
