It s my first time talking birth control , I started the first day of my period ... I had unprotected sex the last day of my period ( 5th day ) ... Can I still get pregnant ? The instructions said You will not need to use a back up method of birth control , since you are starting the pill at the begging of your period . .. Can I still get pregant ?

Thank you for query.Pregnancy depends on timing of ovulation and intercourse.safe period for intercourse is before 9th day and after 21st of menstrual cycle if regular cycles.if you had intercourse in this you are safe.You are totally safe ovulation occurs only around 14 days prior to next period.So allay the fear and continue the regular oral pills if you are likely to have intercourse again.You can also use protectives like condoms also which has protection against STDs.Dr Bharatesh
