Hello. Thank you for writing to us

You seem to have a condition known as Melasma.
Melasma presents with pigmented patches on face, commonly malar area and dorsum of nose.
UV A part of the electromagnetic spectrum is mainly responsible for pigmentation and photoageing, therefore, sun protection and sunscreen is an essential part of management of melasma.
In selecting a sunscreen you must be careful that you choose a sunscreen which offers broad spectrum UV protection i.e both UV A as well as UV B.
A sunscreen with spf 30 or more would be suitable.
A broad spectrum sunscreen would protect your skin from ageing as well as prevent further pigmentation.
At night you may use a pigment reducing cream containing one or more of the pigment reducing agents like kojic acid, hydroquinone, glycolic acid, arbutin etc.
In addition to the topical creams you may also opt for the few sessions of chemical peeling from a dermatologist.
Glycolic acid peel is particularly suitable for pigmentation as well as is antiageing.
I suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your vicinity. You doctor will analyze your skin and advice accordingly.
