Suggest Safe Medication For Nasal Congestion

I am not sure where to go for help but I just went to an allergist yesterday who stated that my nose was severely plugged and looked in bad shape. I know that I have been congested for 4 months. I have seen an allergist in the past and he has put me on Flonase which created bad side effects. The current Allergist is putting me on Zyrtec once a day, Methylprednisolone for a week, Pulmicort 1 a day for 4 weeks, Patanase 2 times a day for 4 weeks, and another for of Pulmicort in a nebulizer 1 time a day for 4 weeks. Plus a saline wash. He did not indicate that I had asthma but I am allergic to a lot of things. The goal is to get me cleaned out so he can scope my nose in 4 weeks. Is this a bit excessive? I am not a pill person and this seems like too much. Please let me know or if you know someone who might know.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It seems that you are having allergic rhinitis. Take fluticasone nasal spray 2 puff at bedtime for 2 month. It will decrease the allergic inflammation of the nose. Take saline Solspre Nasal Spray to clear the allergic mucin. Take steam inhalation. Allergic rhinitis won't get eradicated. It can either increase or decrease with time. So do yoga or nasal breathing exercises. Lead a healthy life. Stay away from alcohol, smoking, allergens like pollen grains, dust, household smoke.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
