Suggest Remedy For Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding

My wife has suffered with eragularition of menopause for a few months and bleeding continued her really fed up and worried, she is already taking birth control pills and duphaston for one week recommended by gynecologists she is little better now, I just wanted to know how long it will take to fully heal.

Thanks for posting your query. I presume that your wife had experienced irregular bleeding for a few months for which she was put on hormones. Please let me know if any investigations like a sonogram and hormone assay were done. You can upload the reports. If there is no local pathology for the bleeding like erosions of the cervix, infections of the vagina and cervix, polyps of the cervix and the endometrium and cysts of the ovary, other causes like sudden weight changes, stress, general infections and use of certain medications must be considered. Thyroid profile also should be done to see if there is any need for supplementation. If she is feeling better with the current treatment she has to continue for at least six months. Supplementary therapy should be simultaneously given to make up for the blood loss. Further management depends on the response, the age, other influencing factors, the need for child bearing etc. Hope your query has been clarified. Take care.
