Suggest Remedy For Infection At The Site Of Surgery
Hi there, I had Septoplasty with Turbinate Reduction on Thursday 22nd and developed an infection on the wound which was slightly open but I have been told it should heal on its own. My problem is I have been on Co-Amoxiclav for 4 days now and I haven't noticed a change, in fact the smell of the infection is getting worse. What would be the best course of action? Thanks
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that the infection is increasing and you need to consult your treating surgeon and get evaluated and in case if the antibiotic you are taking is not working then he can change the antibiotic as well as advise you to clean the area of the wound with an antiseptic solution and apply a triple antibiotic ointment over it.. You can also be advised to take intravenous antibiotics for faster relief from the infection.. In case if there is any suspection you can be advised to get blood sugar test done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
