Suggest Remedy For Dog Bite

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...My two month old puppy is very playful and active. He scratches and bites while playing. He was bought from a nice family having a male and female dog and the puppy parents have been vaccinated. I have a small scratch mark in my hand with little bit of bleeding. Would like to know whether i would have to take anti rabies injection. Should i take the vaccine everytime he bites. I have a 12 yr old son who loves the puppy and iam very worried about him being bitten/scratched by the puppy

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

I understand your concern about you and your son getting scratched by your newly acquired pet. It is not necessary to get rabies vaccine if the vaccinations of the puppy are complete. However, make sure you clean the wound thoroughly with soap and running water. Also make sure that your pet gets vaccinated regularly. Training of the pet is also necessary to avoid accidents at home especially with young children.
Thanks.
