Suggest Dosage For Chloroquine Phosphate Tablet
Hi. I am visiting India and forgot to bring any Malarone or other malaria prophylactic. I was given some Chloroquine Phosphate Tablets (Lariago-DS), but the Dosage says: As directed by Physician. Is this something that takes effect right away, like Malarone (take 1 day prior to entering an area where malaria is prevalent), or is it too late to take this medication? Hi,
Chloroquine is given from 2 weeks before departure to 2 weeks after return. You can use Primaquine which is readily available in India. It has to be used from 1 day before departure. Hence, I guess you can start ASAP, daily during your stay and 1 week after reaching back home.
