Sudden Weakness In Left Foot, Numbness In Foot, Unable To Use Shin Muscle Like Before. Serious?

yes I was shingling on my dad's farm and began feeling weakness in my left foot, when I got up off my knee my left foot felt a little numb and then I tried to move my foot up using my shin muscle and I could not get my foot to lift up. Should I be worried this happened a week ago and I still can not use my shin muscle like before. Casey Carlson

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have read your query and I would advise the following:

The abnormal sensations that you have such as numbness, tingling could be nerve compression in spine due to disc bulge.
I will advise for investigation like MRI
you will improve after physiotherapy and rest. Apply ice packs

Vitamin B12 is important in the maintenance of health and normal functioning of the nerve tissue and deficiency of it can lead to numbness. You can increase B12 level by taking meat and fish, or you can take Inj methylcobalamine 1500 mcg alternate day. [6 doses]

Some useful suggestion
Apply a warm or cold compress to reduce burning or tingling
Protect yourself from the cold and extreme weather conditions

I hope that I have answered your query. Let me know if I can help you further.

Take care
