Most children with ADHD get well as they grow older. That is why, the last doctor who saw you might not have made a diagnosis of ADHD. They would have diagnosed bipolar disorder on the basis of your later symptoms. Please discuss in detail with your psychiatrist what he feels about your diagnosis and whether you still have ADHD or not.
There is more than one issue – and you need more than one specialist / Neurologist & Psychiatrist - for further assessment and assistance. Both can be managed fairly well... Aggressive management of risk factors can prevent future stroke and retard the progression of present insult. The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
