Pediatrician 's  Response
Dear dvdavies I am sorry to hear about your grand daughter. I think she has got
childhood eczema. The eczema is not a desease but a disorder. the most common
cause is allergy which could be of deffrent things eg Food, drinks, pollens, hair, plants and so
on. It presents wth raugh dry skin which usuall itchy. That gets infected due to scratching
and becomes weepy. As you mensioned about 'white heads' those are the infected sites.
There are also other causes like skin allergy(Uticaria) or fungal infection (thrush).
I thing you shoud take her to a Paedtrician for further examination and treatment.
kindest regards Dr. S.K.Mukherjee
