Small Child, Cold, Cough And Fever. Taking Altacef, Azithromycin. Typhoid, Malaria Blood Test Normal. Cure?

My daughter was suffering from cold cough and fever for last two weeks. The doctor advised Altacef (125mg/5ml) 7ml BDS for 6 days and azithromycin 5ml OD for 6 days along with viscodyne syrup. After taking these medicines for 6 days fever stopped coming. Blood tests for typhoid, malaria and dengue are negative. After 2 days of stopping medicines again low grade fever along with cough and cold has started. Please advise.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Your child seems to have upper respiratory tract infection could be due to a virus or a bacteria.
Monitor temperature with a thermometer.
If there is fever you can give paracetamol in prescribed dosage.
Give plenty of oral fluids.
If the fever is not coming down within 24 hours, consult your Pediatrician again for the examination of the child and for specific treatment advise.
Hope I have answered your query.

Hi
Thanks for your query.
your child was having respiratory infection which could be viral or bacterial in nature.
Since you have completed a course of antibiotic recently,i suggest you to get your child re evaluated by pediatrician for further management.
In the meantime give paracetamol if fever is above 100F.
Give plenty of fluids, lukewarm water will be soothing.
Give vegetable soup and soft bland diet so as to maintain hydration and nutrition to increase her immunity.

Wishing your baby good health.
God bless.
