Skin Rashes Spreading On Neck, Back And Arms Of A Child
Hi my name is Denise. My daughter started developing little patches of rash that were itchy, and I rubbeb the with alcohol and they started to dissappear, but after 30 minutes later I noticed that now she has the rash on her neck ,back, underarms arms and other areas and it looks more.spread and her skin looks pink color amd I can feel the rash because there like big patches.I don t know if I should take her to the ER.I m worried.
Hi Denise,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic,
It seems your daughter is having skin allergic reaction.
For rash you can apply calamine lotion externally over skin to decrease the itching and for the soothing effect.
If the itching continues you can give oral antihistamine like cetirizine or hydroxyzine in prescrbed dosage after consulting your Pediatrician.
Hope I have answered your query.
I feel that your daughter is having skin allergy not to worry...........but few doses of antihistaminic like cetrizine or chlorpheniramine maleate should ameliorate the condition
if you could find out a allergen causing the problem you should try and avoid that
if there is breathing problem then you should immediately take her to the emergency
