Side Effects Of Reducing Smoking

My Dad is 84 and has smoked fairly heavily most of his life. He has now cut down on the amount he smokes. He has recently developed a lot of pain and tingling sensation in his fingers, together with a loss of strength in them, and wonders if it is related to a reduction in smoking.

Thanks for the query

As he has been a smoker for such a long time it is possible that these are his withdrawal symotoms but that does not mean he goes back to smoking. See a physicist and let him get symptomatic treatment for these. Nicotine patches also can help
