Should I Be Concerned About After Effects Of Hysterectomy?
Yes, thank you. I had my right tube and ovary removed 11 yrs ago. (Cyst and full of endemetrious. Almost 2 yrs. ago I had an ablation and d and c for heavy bleeding. I have been experiencing very painful periods, pain lasting days beyond bleeding, awful migraines and nausea. Had an exam and vag. Ultrasound . Doc. Said endemetrial cysts on ovary and probably endemetrious throughout. Rec. hysterectomy. Very nervous about the after effects of the surg. I am 46 and afraid of going into menopause. I do have a second opinion scheduled.
Hello madam, from the history you have given, well since you are already 46, hysterectomy would be a better option.menopause does causes after effects, but you are almost nearing your menopausal stage and once you attain menopause the ovaries become atrophic and do not function anymore. As there could be chances of hyperplasia (pre malignant changes), if the uterus and ovaries are retained, you doctors must have suggested hysterectomy wherein benefits overweigh risks. Hope i was helpful to you
