Should Contraceptives Be Taken After Periods Are Over?

hi I plan to start taking novelon tablets for contraception. My periods are expected to start after 4 to 5 days. Should I start the dosage from today or start once my periods are over for the month? Also for how long can on the same contraceptive pill? Are there any side effects of novelon? Thank you.

Hi,

Novelon has to be started on the first day of periods if your gynaecologist has suggested. Should be taken for 21 days. After getting periods again on the first or second day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. B. Radhakrishnan. Nair, OBGYN
