Should A Heart Patient Just Diagnosed With Gall Bladder Condition Be Taking Amlodipine?

Should a heart patient just diagnosed with gall bladder condition be taking amlodipine? Doctors say the heart is too weak to do gall bladder surgery.. Would not taking this medication (which is new for patient 5/27/13) increase chances for heart to become stronger in order to have gall bladder removed?

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

I am not sure how your doctor has said by heart is weak, or what exactly that means. I would not make such a comment without an echocardiography. And if that has been done, I would like to knwo the report before making a comment

As for amlodipine. The medicine is a commonly used drug for high blood pressure.

I would also suggest you talk to your doctor about laproscopic surgery. It may probably be possible to do surgery by that technique, as it is less traumatic.

the final decision of course rests with the operating team

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.
