Should A Flu Shot Be Taken For Exposure To Flu Environment?

while my sons were at their Mom's for Christmas vacation, they were exposed to the flu this past week. They missed getting their flu shots at school when they were offered due to forgetting the signature forms and because of that, I did not know they had offered them until it was too late. They just returned home from their Mom's today. They have no symptoms that I can see. Should I wait to get their flu shots or should I go ahead and get them now. If I should wait, how long should I wait

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It may be best to wait 1 to 2 days to see if they develop any symptoms because it can take a while for an infection to show itself.

If no symptoms develop then they can get the vaccine.

If they do develop symptoms then you can wait until they are better and then receive the vaccine.

I hope this helps
