Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A 46 year old, 5' 4" female, 120 pounds- I just had an annual physical. Have lost 30 pounds, low cholesterol and blood pressure - probably in the best shape of my life. My only concern is my routine labs showed an alt level of 47. Should I be concerned. On a side note - i don't drink.
Noted you were obese with high weight.... Just now your liver enzymes only border line elevated.... You have lost weight.... So continue with exercise and healthy and balanced diet....
Here you can investigate with.... -USG abdomen first..... It might reveal fatty liver or gall stone if present ... Second if history if jaundice then viral marker study by ELISA done for rule out viral hepatitis ...
Take low fat diet and more fruits for few days.... Muscular problems and cardiac problem also can lead elevated enzymes.... So its history has to be ruled out....
Repeat your liver enzymes study after month....
Take care....
With keeping these in mind consult gastroentetologist......
