Shaky Arms, Dizziness, Visible Jumping Of Pulse In Lower Arm. On Lowered Nicotine Patch After Giving Up Smoking. Concerning?

I have given up smoking and felt like the patch I was on is starting to give me to much nicotine. I have now lowered the patch strength to 7 mg. I was feeling shakey in my arm and feeling dizzy. Today I have been feeling a pulse in my lower left arm and have been even able to see it jumping. I'm worried it may not be the patch I'm wearing and another reason this is happening?

Hello
Welcome to HCM

You have recently gave up smoking and are currently on lowered dose of nicotine 7 mg. You have symptoms like dizziness, shakiness, running pulse etc. These symptoms can occur due to withdrawal of nicotine also. Even you are on nicotine patch still due to low doses some symptoms can manifest in form of withdrawal symptoms. These type of symptoms can occur even after long time of tobacco cessation, also called protracted withdrawal. There is no need to worry. Try to control these symptoms by relaxation exercises and if that is not possible consult your psychiatrist.

Thanks
