I am very familiar with what you are describing. Given you new sport activities, it would make the most sense to have this taken care of as soon as possible. It is a VERY simple procedure associated with almost no pain whatsoever in recovery. It is usually performed as an outpatient procedure. If you do not address the problem, then intercourse is likely going to be painful (and bloody) as well. Have your mother take you to an OBGYN
and let them do an exam and they can give you a better idea of what is involved.
