Severe Fatigue. Fibroids Which Is 10cm. Scheduled To Have Laparascopic Supra Cervical Hysterectomy. Is Surgery Needed?

Hi, I'm going to be 53 yrs old, no sign of menopause, always tired, and scheduled to have a laprascopic supra-cervical hysterectomy at the end of Oct, but not sure if I want to go through with it. I have fibroids which total about 10cm and was told after a total of 12cm a hysterecomy cannot be done laprascopically. Since I don't 'need' to have the surgery, it's hard for me to make a final decision. I don't want to wait too long, then if I have to get the surgery later and pass the 12cm mark and be out longer than if I get the surgery done now. Also, apparently the other options of blocking the arteries or just removing the fibroids would only help for a couple years??? And, without a uterus, I read it may increases chances of heart disease?? Thoughts on how to help with my final decision? Thanks!

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
You have a large fibroid. Such a large fibroid can cause pressure symptoms to the adjacent organs and cause a heavy bleeding during the periods. It is best to get the fibroid surgically removed. Blocking the arteries is not a permanent solution for the problem.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.

Hi, it appears that you have fibroids, and tend to increase in size. there is possibility of conversion to the malignancy. So it will be better to decide as early as possible. If not malignancy there will be change in the periods, like menorrhagia. If don't prefer to have per veginal root, you can go for abdominal root, even after it attains 12 cm. Thank you.
