Severe Cramping And Pain In Feet After Taking First HPV Vaccine Shot. Guillain Barre Syndrome?

My 25 year old daughter just had her first HPV Vaccine Shot and is experiencing severe cramping and pain in her feet (she is a runner). In researching the side effects I seen that one of the side effects is guillain-barre syndrome and her symptoms are exactly as described. Where do we go to get her help right away? She is in Austin, Texas.

It is a good thing that you are aware of a cancer preventing vaccine and have given it to your daughter but the known side effects of the vaccine are very few and may not be caused by the vaccine alone, a fainting attack or a local reaction at the site of injection are common but Guillain Barre syndrome is very unlikely. There may be muscle aches or a feverish like feeling after any viral vaccination as such but if she continues to have these symptoms along with some sensory or muscle power loss, you need to see your physician.
