Sciatica Pain On Left Leg, Numbness Around Right Knee, Severe Heel Pain. Disc Bulges Present. Traction Only Option ?
Iam suffering from sciatica pain for the past 10 years. I have disc bulge in L3-L4,L4-L5,L5-S1 levels( mri ). All these days I have sciatica pain on my left leg. I take traction whenever the pain is more. For the past one month I have numbness around my right knee: sometimes pain and now I have severe heel pain (right) whenever I get up from sitting/lying posture . And also the middle finger of my right hand becomes numb. I am taking BIO D3 MAX regularly.Whether traction is the only option or surgery will give me permanent relief. As these disc bulges are not severe I have been asked to take rest whenever the pain becomes severe.

Hi Revathi
Thanks for posting your query
You are suffering from PIVD .
Pressure from disc bulge over nerve causes pain & numbness in your left leg.
Now due to more disc bulge pressure occurs over nerve roots on right side, so pain & numbness occurs on right side also.
Traction is not only the option. Surgery (Discectomy) relives pressure over nerve.
Option of conservative v/s surgical management depends upon severity, functional demand, age of patient etc.
