Scan Done. What Does The Findings Mean? Suggestions?

Multilevel degenerative disc disease with large broad-based
posterior disc bulge with annular tear at C6-7 causing severe
central canal stenosis with cord compression and moderate to
severe lateral neuroforaminal stenosis. No definite cord signal
changes at C6-7. However mild T2 hyperintensity in the cervical
cord at C5-6 likely secondary to prior myelomalacia. Postsurgical
change at C5-6 with disc prosthesis without significant central
canal or neuroforaminal stenosis.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Your report suggests that
1.You have age related degenerative changes in the form of inter vertebral disc prolapse .It is due to weakness in annulus fibrosis and it may be due to degeneration or trauma.
Disc bulge is significant at C6-7 level in posterior direction and it is causing compression of spinal cord with central canal narrowing.
It is also causing moderate to severe compression of lateral neural foramen.
2.C5-6 level shows degeneration in spinal cord.
3.Post surgical changes at C5-6 level.
Hope you have understand the terms.

Take Care
