Risk Of Developing Rabies After Exposure To Bat Saliva? Rabies Vaccine Taken After Seven Days

I may have been exposed to bat saliva (or urine , it was a liquid that came off of the bat and fell on my face) in Iowa. I didn t think anything of it, till six days later. I was urged to get the Rabies Vaccine and shots, which I did last night, about seven days after initial exposure. Am I still at risk of developing Rabies? Thank you -- worried father and husband here! Patrick

Hi Patrick,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
You do not need to worry now.
The rabies vaccine is highly effective if one takes it while the rabies onset is not there clinically.
Another point of relief is that the exposure grade/severity is quite low risk.
Wish you a great health!
