Reddish Brown, Watery Semen. Previous Paralysis. Colonoscopy Recommended. Advise?

following my paralyzing right MCA stroke 7 years ago )( my wife of 49 years at that time) declared that I was "not the man she married", and that my interest in sex was a stroke-induced perversion. since that time , I have not attempted any intemate relations with her( lest I suffer another rebuke) instead, I have masterbated several time, at which times I discovered that my semen ,instead of being pearly-white and viscus, was readish brown and watery. Although my knowledge of chemistry is limited to several years of undergraduate inorganic, my general scientific reading suggests several explainations: Fluids, like beer or soapy water develop a whitish appearence when huge numbers of tiny intrusions( e.g., bubbles ),are present . Further when chemist want to make a viscus fluid they incorporate long chain molicules ( an interesting example of a microscopic property having macroscopic effect) the the case of semen, the viscosity may well result from the entangling of millions of flagelli Both the watery character and brown color could be explained if my sperm were all dead( perhaps from old age?) another explaination could involve some pathological state of my prostate. I have gotten annual physicals since long before my stroke and this condition. This exam always includes a blood work-up( including PSA analysis and direct tactile prostate check( I have had only one Colonoscopy(in 2000) at my last physical my PCP recommended another Colonoscopy but my wife doesn't want me to do it. Since my stroke she has complete control of every aspect of my life. I'm Joe Fisher{ 78YO white male,in excellent health(If you don't count being paralized in my left arm and leg)Sudbury Mass; email: YYYY@YYYY P. S.the other window ( other than this question text box is the first place wher money has been mentioned and one of the many aspects of my wife's complete control of my lifem is that I may not spwnd money without her approval. Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. It is interesting to know your explanations for the reddish colored semen that you are having. However it might be well to understand that more than chemistry you are dealing with human physiology and pathology. Your prostate could be at fault, however this needs to be confirmed. I advise you to kindly consult a doctor and let them know of what has been going on. A Urinalysis along with a semen analysis and probably imaging studies should probably follow after the H&P by the doctor. Your colonoscopy has nothing to do with your semen becoming red. Please visit with a doctor as soon as you can.

I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
