Quit All Narcotic Medications, All Withdrawals Are Over. Only Getting Sleep For 2 Hrs. What To Do ?
I just recently quit taking all my medications 2mo ago. I was on narcotic medication for LBP for 12yrs. The meds included Oxycodone, Percocet, Fentanyl, and Methadone. The V.A. that was sending my meds messed up my new address so I just decided to quit. I think the withdrawals are almost over but my concern is I only get about 2hrs of sleep every 4-5 days. I also have had an excessive bloated feeling in my stomach and it seems to only be worsening. I’m so uncomfortable and not sure what to do.
Congratulations on quitting opioids! You did a great job. Disturbed sleep is also a withdrawal symptoms which often lasts for longer than other symptoms. You may take over the counter sleep medications, but usually they do not make much of a difference. Try to go to bed daily at the same time. Avoid loud music/television for at least half an hour before going to bed. Avoid caffeinated drinks in the evening. Try to get regular exercise. These are some measures that may help. Just wait for your body to heal. It takes time but it surely is worth it.
Bets wishes.
