Pregnant With Severe Pain In The Chest, Breathing Difficulty, Vomiting. Had Spinal Surgery In The Past. Safe To Take Rantac?

I am 31 years old and 8 weekse pregnant and have had a spine surgery 6 years back. Now I'm having severe pain in the chest, finding it difficult to breathe, vomiting and having sleepless nights for the past 2 weeks. I have been advised to take doxinate and rantac 150. Is it advisable to intake so many medicines at such an early stage of pregnancy? If that's not a problem then what should be the dosage for each of these medicines?

Hi and thanks for the query,
pregnancy is a very delicate state and might be very useful to get appropriate diagnosis especially early in pregnancy before taking drugs. Some of these drugs have side effects and need to be well chosen and monitored. The drugs you are talking about are for sure good drugs, but we do not know exactly what you are suffering from. Drugs taken need to be monitored for possible side effects.
I suggest you consult your gynecologist for an appropriate clinical examination, diagnosis and management. This is because pregnancy is early and deserves a very keen attention.
thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
