Pregnant, Less Frequent Baby Movements, Less Intense. Sonography Done. Indomethacin Prescribed. Advise?
Good Evening Doctor,
I am 29 weeks pregnant and post my 3rd sonography done 3 days ago, the doctor has prescribed Indomethacin capsules (50mg) for 10 days saying this medicine is to reduce the water (Not sure what is the medical term) in the stomach as it is on the higher side. The sonography report under Liquor category says:
> Mild polyhydraminos is seen
> AFI measures 21.5
WHy am i asking this question is becasue post the day i started taking this medicine i am feeling less frequent baby movements and may be less intense too. Please let me know if Indomethacin is a right prescription.
Hi, Indomethacin is recommended for managing polyhydramnios, but it should not be taken for long time, as it can cause premature closure od PDA-patent ductus arteriosus.
