Hi i got my last period on the 11th of april and am pregnant. The doc said to do a sonography and the report says that Single intrauterine gestation. Survey: Uterus reveals a single small geatational sac. Fetal polr and yoke sac not seen. Mean GSD..10mms..5 weeks. Impression: Single very early intra-uterine pregnancy. Advised followup scan after 10-14 days. So i wanted to know is there any problem cause am worried
Yes, there is something you should worry about. Not being able to see the fetal pole and the yoke sac at 9weeks of gestation is a cause for concern because they are normally seen at this time. This could represent aembryonic gestation or blighted ovule. It could also be that it was difficult locating them.
In two weeks, when the control would be done, you will get a definite answer. They will be able to compare the dimensions today with those then and also try to locate these structures again.
For now, keep a cool head. Let's wait for what the followup ultrasound says. Wish you the best outcome with this. Also, feel free to come back to us if need be. Dr. Ditah
