Pregnant. 29 Week Sonography Showed Slowed Growth Pattern, No Sign Of IUGR Or Placental Insufficiency. Prescribed Amino Fit, Gestin, ARG 9 Granules. Safe?

Is it safe to take Amino fit tablets (1 daily), Gestin (5 mg and thrice daily) and ARG 9 granules (1 sachet daily) starting 29th week of pregnancy? What is the purpose of giving these medicines. The weight of the baby is 1045 gms in the 29.2 weeks of pregnancy which we are told is a 200 gms less. The 29 week sonography mentioned that the growth pattern has slightly slowed down from 30 percentile to 21 percentile however there is NO sign of IUGR or Placental insufficiency.

Hi,
Aminofit tablets contain essential amino acids and are supposed to help in tissue building; Gestin is a progestogen that helps in pregnancy maintenance; ARG 9 granules contain L-arginine used in pregnancy in the treatment of pre-eclampsia. The prolonged use of any of the medications as nutritional supplements is not suggested. Utero-placental insufficiency may be suspected if there is growth retardation and a careful follow up is necessary. Please take adequate rest in left lateral position, drink plenty of liquids and take a healthy diet. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you safe motherhood.
