Pregnancy Ultrasound Not Detecting Embryo Heartbeat. Miscarriage?

My last normal period was December 27, I had some spots on January 20, did a preg test and came positive, today I went to do an ultrasound and doc says I supposed to be 8 weeks but my embryo doesn t look like is growing and no heartbeat was detected, she says she was sorry but more likely I will have a miscarriage they are doing some blood work, don t you think is too soon to diagnose a miscarriage going to happen?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
At 8 weeks of gestation if there is no growth of the fetus and a heart beat is not detected then it is likely to be a missed abortion. This is the right time for a proper diagnosis.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
