Painful Knees After Reducing Thyroxine. No Periods. Peri Menopausal?

Since reducing my Thyroxine by 25mg, I have suffered with very painful knees. As I am a fitness instructor I am aware that I have over used joints but I have never suffered with any type of injury or strain. Also I have not had a period for two months now. I am very clued up on what is happening at my stage of life but a bit confused wether its the lower dose of Thyroxine or am I peri menopausal?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the knees is likely to be due to the ostearthritic changes associated with menopause. The decrease in thyroxine dosage is not likely to cause the pain as long as your thyroid hormone levels are within normal limits.
